Breakdown of Possible Point Distribution:  

Grade Point Average (Up to 15 points)

Core Classes only

A minimum GPA of 75 is required. Up to 15 points will be awarded as follows:

GPA 75 - 79 80 - 84 85 - 89 90 - 94 95 - 100
Points 3 6 9 12 15

 

Norm Referenced Test (Up to 30 points)

MAP, ACP’s or other DISD approved assessments

A minimum score of 40% on norm referenced tests (MAP, ITBS, Terra Nova, Stanford9, ect) is required. Up to 30 points will be awarded as follows:

(4th Grade) 5 each 10 each 15 each
Reading 40% - 60% 61% - 80% 81%+
Math 40% - 60% 61% - 80% 81%+

  

Onsite Essay (Up to 30 points)

The essay is an expository essay based on prompts inspired by 4th grade STAAR writing prompts. 

The rubric is based on the 4th grade STAAR Writing Rubric.

  • Purpose: To identify academically oriented, focused, driven, and thoughtful students.

  • Goal: To connect with students who have potential and fit well with the school’s model.

  • Application: Must be submitted online with all required documentation attached.

  • Verification: The school verifies the application and documentation.

  • Assessment Scheduling: Once verified and complete, Schoolmint will email the assessment date and time.

  • Important: Incomplete applications will not be processed.
